Club President, Jason Lau's President's Report and the Minutes (PDF copy attached) from the Club's Annual General held on Sunday 16th September 2018 on the Training Grounds in Centennial Park, commencing at 10 AM:
"This is my second year as President and I’m pleased to present this report for 2018. This year the Club has successfully run 13 classes every Sunday, from Puppies through to Class 4, including Activity Class and Rally-O. We’ve also maintained a steady and healthy stream of new Members wanting to participate in our popular Puppy and RDO programs. I would like to take this opportunity to thank all Instructors who give their time freely to run these classes, and to the Helpers who man the desk and set up equipment for all our Members.
Last year the Club purchased a Toyota Hiace van, which replaced the old Club trailer. I’m thrilled to say the van is now fully fitted and has now been in use since the beginning of the year. I would like to thank all who were involved with the inception, purchase, fit out and the Members who helped unload the old trailer and organise the equipment into the new van. A special thanks go to David Givney, Robert Fairhead, Martin O'Loughlin and Julie Brandon for putting up their hands to drive the van from the compound to the training grounds on Sunday mornings, and to Jan Cooke for helping with the purchase and fit-out of the van.
In the area of training, I would like to congratulate Sharon Wee who successfully completed our Trainee Instructor Program and is now helping the Club run our Foundation, RDO and Puppy Classes. I would also like to thank Robert Fairhead, who is our Senior RDO & Puppy Class Instructor, for organising publicity and generating interest for new Trainee Instructors. This publicity has recently gained us 5 new Trainee Instructors – Genevieve, Hülya, Lauren, Melody & Taunee – who have begun working their way through the program. I welcome all of you to the Club and thank you for giving your free time to help Members train their dogs.
Last year on the October Long Weekend we ran another successful Annual Obedience Trial. Our Committee and Helpers are busy organising this year’s event to be held on Saturday 29th September. A special thank you to our Trial Secretary Julie Brandon, our Chief Steward Heather Martyn, Leonie Kelly and all Club Members who have offered their time to help on the day. Best of luck to all our Members who will be competing in this year’s event.
Finally, thank you again to all the Instructors and Helpers for giving up your time to help the Club run smoothly, and to all Club Members who give support by coming down and enjoying the activities the Club has to offer."
