  • Heeling at all paces incorporating:

    • Sit (teaching automatic sits)

    • Stand

    • Drop

    • Right about turns

    • Left about turns

    • Left turn

    • Right turn

  • Sit Stay and return around your dog (20 sec)

  • Drop stay and return around your dog (20 sec)

  • Stand stay and return around your dog (15 sec)

  • Stand for exam (aim for handler’s dog is not to jump up and show signs of aggression. Acceptable if dog moves) 

  • Fronting your dog

Main focus on all exercises is to encourage or teach how to fade food lures.

Enrichment Exercise - Instructor’s choice of exercise(s) from:

  • Weaving between cones

  • Curving in close proximity to another dog

  • Leaving a food item in a container placed on the ground

  • Leaving a toy item placed on the ground

  • Café time: One handler sitting with their dog while another walks by with their dog (controlled safe distance)

  • Weaving between handlers and their dogs. Handler encouraged to reward their dogs when another passes without interaction (handlers whose dogs are reactive are exempt from participating in this exercise)

  • Showing handlers appropriate dog to dog greeting/interaction on lead (only for dogs that are not reactive and careful pairing of dogs by the instructor must be done)

Next Training Date

This Sunday, 18th March, is a Puppy Class Joiner for dogs aged under 6 months. It is also a Promotion Testing morning for the advanced Classes 1 to 2, 2 to 3 and 3 to 4.

To help puppies and dogs AND their handlers better cope with potentially higher temperatures and humidity, start times for the Puppy and Adult Dog RDO Classes have been rescheduled to earlier in the morning until after Easter. Please check the updated times AND arrive at least 15 minutes prior to the scheduled start times.
